Returning home from a holiday to Surfers Paradise, we stayed at a quiet little motel in Gympie. Across the road was a little park with a pond and walking track. The trees were lined with Cattle Egrets, some of which, showing off their breeding plumage. This guy was pretty high up, looking spectacular showing off his gorgeous colours. I just had to snap a pic.

Wandering around the park behind my home, looking for interesting things to photograph, I spotted some dew drops on blades of grass. Not being used to capturing small subjects, I challenged myself and was quite pleased with the outcome.

This photo was a part of the first roll of film I ever shot. I had just gotten my first SLR, and as a zookeeper at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, I thought it would be fun to start with some portraits of all my favorite critters. Scarlet the Red Fox was very curious about the camera and ended being the perfect model. Minolta X-700, expired Kodak Ultramax 400
